#10 Conejo Chapin (5-1) sat outside in midpack and rallied for the win at 8-1 odds in his course/distance bow Feb. 16 and clear runner-up and beaten favorite Wicked as Haggart came roaring back to graduate by 7 1/4 lengths as the chalk March 7. This one breezed 5f on March 9 and projects another outside stalking trip.
#7 Pair of Socks (7-2) added blinkers and lasix and went all the way in the local slop Jan. 18, and stalked wide and finished an okay third Feb. 21 (Hesper 2nd). Brian Hernandez, Jr. hops aboard and he wins races with Dallas Stewart.
#5 Hesper (5-1) was part of the trifecta in all four starts. He won his debut and the runner-up was a next-out winner, and this one was an even third in his second career start. He stretched out and was second best Jan. 19, and turned back and rallied for the place Feb. 14.
#2 Star Rock Star (6-1) stalked and scored by 2 1/2 lengths in his bow but was placed last through disqualification. He landed the show in his next two starts, and turned back, returned to dirt, and officially broke his maiden by 3 1/2 lengths as the strong favorite at this course/distance March 4. This is his third start after a layoff and he might maintain sharp form.
#8 Chantico (5-1) moves to the Michael Stidham barn and Ben Curtis clicks with this outfit. This is her first start since September 2024 and she showed ability in her maiden win for Shug McGaughey at Monmouth last summer. She adds lasix for the first time.
