Check out my Friday (3-21-25) Santa Anita Park Race 6 analysis below.
SA 6 (OC-50k/1x, CA-bred, 5T) – Post Time 6:37 PM ET
Primary – #5 BRO BRO, #1 Cullen J
Secondary – #3 Roman Gratis, #7 Run for Kidder, #8 Distant Fleet
Horse Comments:
#5 Bro Bro (5-2) stalked the pace and graduated by 2 1/2 lengths at 9-2 odds in his 6T bow Feb. 15 and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He might be able to click right back.
#1 Cullen J (3-1) was an even fourth from the inside post as a 16-1 longshot in his 5T bow Aug. 23. He was 80 cents on the dollar second time out and pressed, led, and held the place at this course/distance (show finisher next-out winner). He removed blinkers, made the lead from the outside post, and missed by a head at less than even money at 5T Nov. 15 (7 1/4 lengths clear of the show). Antonio Fresu stayed put, he added lasix, and he graduated by a head at 6T Jan. 18.
#3 Roman Gratis (2-1) showed speed and weakened to 4th of 9 (beaten 10 lengths) at 24-1 odds in his TUP debut in the Lost in the Fog and the winner clicked right back in his next start. He shipped to SA and went all the way in a CA-bred MSW dirt sprint Feb. 1, and he was demoted to third for interfering with Outworker. He added blinkers and was less than even money in a MSW dirt sprint March 1 and he wired the field. He tries a turf sprint and should be all over the pace.
#7 Run for Kidder (12-1) won two turf sprints at this distance at DMR last year. He began his career in a dirt sprint at LRC and he chased the pace and landed the place. He made his first start since December in a local $32k dirt sprint March 15 and he dueled and finished third (first lasix). Adam Kitchingman was 0-for-18 with layoff runners so he actually ran okay a few days ago. He is back in less than a week and should be forwardly placed.
#8 Distant Fleet (15-1) scratched on March 15. He was 3-1 in his CA-bred Mcl-50k dirt sprint bow and he made the lead from the inside post and won by 3 lengths. He can win again if he runs a bit faster.
