Check out my Sunday (4-20-25) Santa Anita Race 9 analysis below.

SA 9 (MSW, 8T) – Post Time  7:10 PM ET
Primary – #4 TIME TO SHINE, #10 Call the Confidante
Secondary – #8 Nafisa, #9 Sunset Beauty

Horse Comments:

#4 Time to Shine (9-2) was 16-1 in her course/distance debut March 16, and she sat back and showed decent late interest when finishing 4th of 9 (beaten 4 lengths). Mark Glatt has good stats with second timers and even better numbers with his second grass starters. Umberto Rispoli stays put and he is 2-for-6 with this barn recently. The $190k Not This Time filly removes blinkers and dam has produced two turf winners. She shows three solid local works since her last and might move up second time out.

#10 Cat the Confidante (4-1) rallied from post 11 to miss the place by a nose in her 6T bow March 15. John Sadler has decent stats with second timers and she drilled a bullet for this April 11. Hector Berrios climbs aboard and the sharp turf rider is 5-for-10 with this outfit.

#8 Nafisa (9-5) is 0-for-7 with four runner-up finishes and a pair of show finishes. She landed the place in all three local turf attempts and is a logical trifecta player for the productive Hernandez/Baffert team.

#9 Sunset Beauty (8-1) was a wide 4th of 9 (beaten 6 lengths) in her MOC-62.5k dirt sprint bow and the winner and the show finisher were both next-out winners. She steps up and tries a turf route second time out, and Flavien Prat takes the call.
