#6 Margarita Girl (5-2) was 70 cents on the dollar in her dirt sprint bow at DMR last summer and she dueled and was clearly second best. Non Compliant beat her that day and she clicked right back in the G2 Oak Leaf. This filly was 1-2 in a local turf sprint second time out (October 2024), and she dueled and finished 3rd of 12. Mark Glatt is a profitable 20% with second timers and turf/dirt runners and the $575k filly adds lasix and should impact the pace.
#7 Sugar Hi (8-1) pressed and romped as the favorite in her dirt sprint bow at SAR (July 2023). She flopped in her next two stakes starts (G1 Spinaway, Matron), and returned from a layoff and finished last in back-to-back starts. Phil D’Amato is her new trainer and she drilled a local 5f bullet for this May 5.
#4 Wishtheyallcouldbe (2-1) finished in the top three in eleven of twelve starts at SA (4 wins). The versatile mare sports five wins at this distance and reconnects with her winning rider Tiago Pereira.
#8 Big Pop (5-1) improved her speed ratings in her first four dirt sprints (2 wins – 2 show finishes), and she switched to turf and finished 8th of 10 after stalking from third. Both of her wins were at this distance and she projects an outside stalking trip under her winning rider Kazushi Kimura.
