Horse Comments:
#6 Works for Me (4-1) fired trifecta shots in seven of his last ten starts. He finished in a dead heat for the win in the Aqueduct Turf Sprint Championship last fall, and returned from a layoff and missed by a nose in an OC-75k/2x affair at 6T May 4. He stumbled at the start and rallied for the win as the favorite at this course/distance June 6 and that was a fast race. His winning rider Flavien Prat stays put and the versatile colt will probably be forwardly placed.
#7 Felix (5-1) added blinkers and nipped Works for Me by a nose at 6T May 4. He projects a stalking trip under John Velazquez.
#2 Our Shot (10-1) goes in and out of form. He is off his game currently but that might change on Friday. He reconnects with Luis Saez and he ran three straight quality races under this pilot last year including a head defeat in this event.
#9 Bring Theband Home (8-1) finished 1-2 in four of six turf sprints including a local wire job at this distance last summer. He exits a neck defeat at 5T and should be all over the pace.
#10 Witty (5-1) is a quality late runner on turf. He rallied to win a turf sprint stakes at PIM as my top choice May 17. He needs pace help and is probably a bigger threat underneath.
#5 Outlaw Kid (6-1) makes his first start since November 2024 for Weaver. He has a good overall record on turf (14 6-2-1), and he is 3-for-7 with a pair of runner-up finishes at this trip. He has won at SAR before.
