#6 Pandora’s Gift (5-1) stalked, led, and missed by a neck in this event last year. That was her first start in this country and she gave a good account of herself at 10-1 odds. She hit the board in two of four graded turf sprints since and quality turf sprinter Future Is Now won three of those races and was second in the other one. She is 0-for-7 on turf and 4-for-6 with a pair of runner-up finishes on all-weather ground.
#3 Elysian Field (6-1) was part of the exacta in eight of nine starts on all-weather ground (5 wins). She exits a late running win in the G3 Seaway at seven panels.
#9 Stormcast (7-2) finished in the top three in all nine starts. She won the G3 Bessarabian (7f synthetic) last fall and was third in G3 Seaway (7f synthetic) as the beaten favorite at Woodbine Aug. 23. This is her second start after a long layoff and she should be forwardly placed under Rafael Hernandez.
#11 Ellen Jay (4-1) won three turf sprints as the favorite last year including a stakes score in the Glen Cove in October. She returned from a layoff of 9+ months and finished 3rd of 8 in the Smart N Fancy at 5.5T Aug. 15. She reconnects with her winning Glen Cove rider Flavien Prat and Brad Cox’s Constitution filly is versatile.
#7 Candy Reward (9-2) won her last six starts and she won those races on dirt (8f), synthetic (6.5f, 1 mile 70 yards), and turf (8.5T). The 5-time local winner reconnects with Pablo Morales and he guided her home multiple times.
