LRL 4 (MD Million Turf, 9T) – Post Time 1:08 PM ET – Updated Tickets After Scratches
Primary – #6 JACK’S LEGEND, #7 Youknownothing
Secondary – #2 Crabs N Beer
Wagers: #6 to win, Exacta 6-7/2-6-7, Trifecta 6-7/all/2

Comments: #6 Jack’s Legend (6-1) exits a smart flat mile turf win as the favorite at Colonial Downs and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He rallied for the show in this event in 2023, missed all of 2024, and is back in form after back-to-back solid turf route efforts. The lightly raced 5-year-old gelding is getting faster. #7 Youknownothing (1-1) is a long distance turf specialist for Miguel Clement. She ran into a next-out winner in a clear runner-up finish at KD Aug. 28, and she adds blinkers and cuts back three furlongs. #2 Crabs N Beer (8-1) has a good overall record at LRL (12 2-2-4) and is 0-for-7 with a second and three show finishes at this distance. He landed the show in this race twice (2022 and 2024).

LRL 6 (Hcp-16k, 8.5T) – Post Time 2:31 PM ET
Primary – #1 THE LAST SCIP, #6 King’s River
Secondary – #3 Whiskeyinthejaro
Wagers: #1 to win, Exacta 1/3-6, Exacta 3-6/1

Comments: #1 The Last Scip (10-1) split an 8-horse field and earned a decent late pace rating at this course/distance Sept. 14. There is some pace to chase in the paper race and he should save ground before launching his rally under his winning rider Barbosa. #6 King’s River (6-1) raced wide from the outside post and finished 4th of 7 at CNL Sept. 13 and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He fired trifecta shots in six of his last nine starts and should be heard from late. #3 Whiskeyinthejaro (8-1) exits a rallying show finish at 12T. The late runner cuts back in distance and will try to get involved in the stretch under Jorge Ruiz (11-for-51 at LRL).

LRL 7 (MD Million Distaff, 7f) – Post Time 3:00 PM ET
Primary – #12 FOXY JUNIOR
Secondary – #3 Onyx Ten, #5 Safe Trust
Wagers: #12 to win, Trifecta key 12/3-5, Trifecta 12/3-5/all, Trifecta 12/all/3-5

Comments: #12 Foxy Junior (3-1) tried turf for the first time at PEN on Aug. 8 and she chased the pace and weakened to 5th of 7. She is 10-for-17 on fast dirt and 3-for-3 at LRL, and all three of her local victories were stakes races (MD Million Distaff, Thirty Eight Go Go, Twixt). She was my top choice in the Twixt Sept. 6 and she won that race by 4 3/4 lengths as the 5-2 favorite. #3 Onyx Ten (6-1) is 4-for-12 with five minor awards. She hit the board in the Blue Hen and Maryland Juveniles Fillies, and won the Xtra Heat and Wide Country. She was a disappointing 5th as the beaten favorite in the Beyond the Wire March 22, and returned from a layoff of 5+ months and won an allowance sprint at DEL Sept. 14. #5 Safe Trust (15-1) is relatively consistent with 11 trifecta finishes from 15 starts. In eight stakes tries, she was 1st in the Beyond the Wire, 2nd in the Maryland Juvenile Fillies and Wide Country, and 3rd in the Keswick, Maryland Mlllion Lassie, and Dashing Beauty.

LRL 11 (MD Million Classic, 9f) – Post Time 5:12 PM ET – Updated Tickets After Scratches
Primary – #5 POST TIME
Secondary – #2 Barbadian Runner
Wagers: Exacta 5-2, Trifecta 5/all/2

Comments: #5 Post Time (3-5) is 10-for-10 at LRL and he looks tough to beat as the favorite. Overall, he is 12-for-21 with three runner-up finishes and five show finishes. He hit the board in some big races last year including the G1 Met Mile (2nd), G1 Whitney (3rd), and G1 BC Dirt Mile (2nd). He added blinkers and lasix and aired as the overwhelming favorite in his LRL return May 3, and ran on for the show as the favorite in the G3 Blame at 9f on May 31. He returned to his Maryland base and easily won the Deputed Testimony at 10 cents on the dollar at this distance June 28. He was 6th in the G1 Whitney, 1st by 17 lengths in the local Polynesian at one mile in the mud Sept. 7, and was last of 3 in the G2 Woodward last time. The consistent closer will probably win this for fun as the overwhelming favorite. #2 Barbadian Runner (6-1) was part of the trifecta in all eight dirt starts this year (4 wins). He exits an extended sprint stakes score at CT and his trainer Henry Walters is a profitable 25% with shippers. He likes this oval (9 3-1-3).
