KEE 6 (OC-100k/3x, 6.5f) – Post Time 3:40 PM ET – Updated Tickets After Scratches
Primary – #5 ONE MAGIC PHILLY, #8 Hillerito
Secondary – #2 Marmalade Skye
Horse Comments:
#5 One Magic Philly (3-1) had a useful return when finishing third in the Skipat at PIM on May 17. She returned to SoCal and ran into buzzsaws Sweet Azteca and Kopion in the G2 Great Lady M at LRC July 5. I made her my top choice in the Tranquility Lake at one mile Sept. 1 and she was clearly second best behind Bob Baffert chalk Splendora, and show finisher Nothing Like You was a next-out stakes winner at LRC. Brendan Walsh is her new trainer and she reunites with Flavien Prat, and she is 3-for-4 at this distance (won G3 Chillingworth at 6.5f last fall).
#8 Hillerito (9-5) is 5-for-6 with a runner-up finish and the 5-year-old mare set the pace in all of her starts. She easily went all the way in all three starts this year and is 2-for-2 since moving to the David Jacobson barn. Tyler Gaffalione is 2-for-2 with this one.
#2 Marmalade Skye (10-1) was part of the trifecta in six of seven starts (3 wins) since David Jacobson claimed her for $50k on 11-29-24. She finished a neck behind Easy Red on Sept. 11 and Irad Ortiz, Jr. takes the call. She might move up in her second start off a layoff.
