Horse Comments:
#6 Scotland (5-2) might get the right setup. That was not the case in the G3 Vosburgh last time. The pace was below par that day and he stalked from the inside post and was third as the beaten favorite. He finished a length behind the classy Book’em Danno in a good runner-up finish the G1 Forego in August. He is 2-for-2 at this distance including a win in the Cherokee Mile at CD last fall.
#5 Bishops Bay (7-5) stumbled at the start, chased the pace, and weakened to 6th of 10 at 9-1 odds when last seen in the G1 Forego at 7f last time. That was the first time he finished out of the exacta and that also ended his 4-race win streak. In two starts at one mile, he won the G3 Westchester in the local slop and the G3 Salvator Mile on fast ground. He reconnects with Flavien Prat and he was aboard for all four of his wins this year. He should be right up on the pace.
