Horse Comments:
#5 Maniae (6-1) had a bumpy journey in a rallying runner-up finish from the inside post Dec. 5. She landed the place in both starts at this course and distance. Armando Ayuso stays put and he is enjoying a successful meet, and he guided this one to victory in a SA dirt sprint in the spring. She is versatile and should offer wagering value.
#3 Eltonsingsanother (7-2) dueled and faded as a 24-1 longshot in a turf sprint Nov. 24. She ran well in her last three dirt sprints including a local win at this distance in September. She should be right up on the pace at a speed friendly distance.
#1 How Lovely (9-5) drops in class and switches surfaces, and O’Neill shows a profit with his sprint-route-sprint starters. She moved to this barn over the summer and ran well in two of three turf sprints, and chased and weakened in a flat mile turf race last time. She drilled a half-mile bullet for this at SA Dec. 8.
#6 Saint Mihiel (5-1) won two of five starts and she was right up on the pace in both wins. She broke slow from the inside post and was an even 4th of 7 Nov. 2 and Treece claimed her that day. She was the favorite in a $25k/3L DMR affair at 6.5f on Nov. 24 and she dueled inside and weakened to 4th of 5.
#4 Petite Treat (6-1) chugged along for the show in the same race Saint Mihiel exits. This is her second start off a layoff and she can come running for a share.
