The Untapable Stakes at Fair Grounds was the final road to Kentucky Oaks 2026 prep race of the year. Ten Oaks points races have been run so far, and in this year-end report, I will recap the points races, update the points standings, and share my latest top five Oaks fillies.
I cover all of the Oaks points races on my Runaway Horse YouTube channel, and through the first ten Oaks preps, my top choices have four wins, three runner-up finishes, and three show finishes. The next Oaks points races are the Busher Stakes (Aqueduct) and Santa Ynez (Santa Anita Park) on Jan. 3.
Copper Wind drops off the list after an unplaced effort in the Year’s End Stakes at Oaklawn on Dec. 27. Explora replaces her.
Kentucky Oaks 2026 Points Race Recaps
Untapable Stakes at Fair Grounds (12-20-25): Hit Parade ($6.60) tracked outside and won this race by a head as the favorite, but she was probably a bit fortunate to win. Runner-up Luv Your Neighbor was bumped by Hit Parade and jockey Axel Concepcion lost the right iron, and she fought gamely to the wire and was 4 1/2 lengths in front of show finisher Pashmina. Have Faith (4th), Actis (5th), Miss Call (6th), and Funny Bunny (7th) also ran. Luis Saez rode the winner for Brad Cox. Fractions: 24.67, 48.08, 1:12.58, 1:38.35, 1:42.97.

Jarrod Horak’s Fabulous Five Kentucky Oaks 2026 Contenders (12-30-25)
#1 – BELLA BALLERINA (Street Sense – Pretty City Dancer, by Tapit) – Trainer: Brendan Walsh – Last Ranking (1)
Comments: She won the Golden Road (G2) as my top choice on Nov. 29. That was her second career start and first route attempt, and she is a perfect 2-for-2 heading into 2026. Her half-sister Pretty Mischievous won the Kentucky Oaks in 2023. She is spending the winter at Fair Grounds.
#2 – ZANY (American Pharoah – Mo’ Green, by Uncle Mo) – Trainer: Todd Pletcher – Last Ranking (2)
Comments: Big things are expected in 2026 following back-to-back facile victories to begin her career. Her Demoiselle (G2) romp was fast and visually impressive. She is spending the winter in Florida and she breezed an easy half-mile in 51.50 (32/33) at Palm Beach Downs on Dec. 27.
#3 – SUPER CORREDORA (Gun Runner – Super Simple, by Super Saver) – Trainer: John Sadler – Last Ranking (3)
Comments: The front running winner of the BC Juvenile Fillies (G1) has worked three times since that race. She drilled a 3f bullet on Dec. 12, went a half mile in 48.20 (14/71) on Dec. 21, and she traveled 5f in 1:00.20 (11/114) on Dec. 28. The Grade 3 Las Virgenes at Santa Anita on Feb. 1 might be her next assignment.
#4 – ATROPA (Into Mischief – Bellera, by Bernardini) – Trainer: Cherie DeVaux – Last Ranking (4)
Comments: The Golden Rod (G2) runner-up is spending the winter in New Orleans. She breezed a half-mile in 47.60 (2/30) at Fair Grounds on Dec. 26. Her next start might be the Silverbulletday Stakes on Jan. 17.
#5 – EXPLORA (Blame – Collections Choice, by Bernardini) – Trainer: Bob Baffert – Last Ranking (unranked)
Comments: Exacta finishes in all four starts with a victory in the Oak Leaf (G2) and runner-up finishes in the Del Mar Debutante (G1) and BC Juvenile Fillies (G1). She worked at Santa Anita on Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 and is entered in the Santa Ynez Stakes at seven panels on Jan. 3.
