Check out my Wednesday (1-28-26) Tampa Bay Downs Race 8 analysis below.

TAM 8 (Clm-5k, 4&up, 8.5f dirt) – Post Time  4:02 PM ET
Primary – #10 MIDNIGHT ONYX, #5 Fort Charles
Secondary – #9 Lucky Curlin, #7 Scar

Horse Comments:

#10 Midnight Onyx (4-1) was the favorite in a local $5k dirt route Jan. 3 and he rallied to win by a half-length, and runner-up Paynter’s Prodigy returned to win a $5k claimer as the chalk on Jan. 21. Samy Camacho booted him home last time and he opted for Fort Charles this time. Gil Cipriano takes the call and he is 5-for-8 with Juan Avila. He will probably win this if he runs as fast as he did last time.

#5 Fort Charles (3-1) was claimed for $8k Dec. 12 and he stepped up to the $10k level and rallied for the show behind a romping winner. He goes on the half-price rack and Samy Camacho sticks with him.

#9 Lucky Curlin (9-2) rallied to win a similar local route as the favorite on Jan. 2 under Samy Camacho. That rider jumps over to Fort Charles and this one reconnects with Ricardo Feliciano.

#7 Scar (4-1) won a $10k flat mile dirt race at DEL in September and he set the pace and faded to last of 9 when last seen in October. Leading rider Samuel Marin takes the call and he should impact the pace.
