#4 Her Town (5-2) rallied to win her dirt sprint bow at KEE last fall (Mcl-100k, 6f) and the show finisher was a next-out winner. She pressed, led, and was second best in an extended sprint at CD second time out (OC-80k/2L) and Saffie Joseph, Jr. claimed her that day. She was 5-1 in a local OC-25k/1x affair at seven panels on Jan. 18 and she saved ground stalking slow fractions and won that slow early/fast late event by 2 1/4 lengths. Her new rider Micah Husbands wins races with this barn and she has upside. She sports two bullets for this.
#2 Dry Powder (7-5) is the class of the field for Chad Summers and Irad Ortiz, Jr. is her new pilot. She won the Cathryn Sophia last year and just missed in the Wilton and G1 Cotillion. She was over her head in the G1 BC Distaff last fall, and she returned with clear show finish after setting the pace in the Barbara Fritchie at seven panels on Feb. 14 (runner-up next-out winner). She won her career debut at GP and should be forwardly placed.
#3 Velvet Vortex (6-1) was the favorite in all four starts and she won two of those races. She should be right there throughout if her good race/bad race pattern continues.
#6 Sudden Switch (5-1) was right up on the pace in her three victories last year including a fast win at seven panels at KEE in October (blinkers on). She was last of 6 in the Dream Supreme in November, and she eased and walked off in an all-weather route at TP Jan. 21. She drilled a gate bullet for this Feb. 25 and might bounce back at playable odds.
