Horse Comments:
#5 Beyond Belief (7-2) stalked the pace and missed the place by a neck in the G3 Hurricane Bertie March 7. She won a pair of optional-claiming races at seven panels last year and competed in the graded ranks in her last pair. She sports back-to-back half-mile bullets for this and Luis Saez is her new pilot.
#6 Evanescence (5-2) rallied to win a local OC-125k/1x affair at this distance last spring (Lynn’s Milky Way 3rd). After that race, she completed the trifecta in back-to-back stakes races, and she returned from a layoff and rallied to win a 6f sprint at FG Feb. 5 (OC-50k/2x, first lasix). She rallied for the show in the Matron at OP March 27 and drops and goes back on lasix. Jose Ortiz booted her home Feb. 5 and he is 4-for-6 with Eddie Kenneally recently.
#3 Lynn’s Milky Way (9-5) dueled from the inside post and split an 8-horse field in the G3 Hurricane Bertie March 7. She hit the board in both local starts last year and makes a key rider switch to Ortiz Jr. Irad has ridden her to victory on three occasions and she should be right up on the pace. She is 0-for-3 with a show finish at 6.5f.
#4 Marmalade Skye (9-2) exits an all-weather sprint win at TP. She landed the show in all three local starts and usually runs her race at 6.5f (9 3-2-3). Flavien Prat takes the call and she is entered for the $100k tag.
