#3 Highgrove (9-5) was 2-1 in her AQU debut at this distance May 14 and she carved out below par splits and scored by 2 1/2 lengths, and the clear runner-up was a next-out winner. Brad Cox is 27% with his grads trying winners for the first time and Irad Ortiz, Jr. wins races with this outfit.
#5 Movie Night (7-5) caught the slop in both sprint starts. She rallied for the place in her bow and the winner clicked right back. This filly was the favorite second time out and she closed from post 10 and scored by 8 lengths (runner-up next-out winner). Flavien Prat takes the call and William Walden is a profitable 13% with his recent graduates trying winners for the first time.
#2 Wrong Shoes (4-1) ran well as the favorite in her last two local starter allowance sprints. She stalked the pace and landed the place May 9, and stalked and cruised by 6 lengths June 6. She was third in the G2 Beaumont in April.
#7 Rileytole (8-1) captured her sprint bow at SAR last summer. She was a clear, distant third in the G1 Spinaway second time out, and she missed by a nose in the G1 Frizette in her final 2025 outing. She returned from a layoff of more than half a year and was last of 6 in the slop in a restricted stakes race at OP for her new trainer Steve Asmussen April 24. She adds lasix and might go better in her second start of the year.
