Horse Comments:
#1 Drive by Johnny (7-5) improved his speed ratings in all three starts. He never got involved in his dirt sprint bow at Parx last fall. He moved to the Brittany Russell barn and had early trouble and raced wide from post 10, and he ended up 7th of 11 (beaten 5.5 lengths). He showed better tactical speed when splitting an 8-horse field at 8.5T June 12. Russell is 28% with horses moving from turf to synthetic, and a repeat of either of his last two numbers would probably be enough to win this heat.
#2 Wetlands Willy (9-2) completed the trifecta in a couple of local state bred MSW events last year. He misfired in both local maiden claiming attempts this year and this is his third start off the bench. His ability to be forwardly placed should serve him well in this affair.
#6 Mr. Impatient (7-2) stretches back out in his third start of the year. The 0-for-22 gelding settled for minor awards on eight occasions and is probably good for a share.
