#7 Words of Wisdom (5-1) stretches back out in his second start off a long layoff and sports back-to-back local half-mile bullets for this. Eduardo Gallardo is 4-for-14 with this outfit and the 7-year-old gelding enjoys this course (9 2-2-2) and distance (14 4-1-3). He might be the one to catch at a speed friendly distance.
#3 Cobblestone Bridge (5-2) completed the exacta in his last three starts. He stalked the pace and landed the place at 8T July 3. He is 0-for-8 with a second and two show finishes on turf, and 3-for-10 with three runner-up finishes and a show finish on fast dirt. The 5-year-old gelding finished second in both local starts at one mile.
#4 Lace Up (3-1) shipped to Canterbury and was clearly second best in a $10k claimer at one mile for his new owner/trainer Tim Padilla July 9. He earned a competitive number last time and figures to be forwardly placed. He has a good overall record at one mile (11 2-2-3).
#5 Secret Potion (8-1) finished last in both starts this year and this is his third start off a long layoff. He returns to the Jose Silva, Jr. barn and Luis Fuentes is 4-for-9 with this outfit. The 8-year-old gelding has won twice at Canterbury and he is a 3-time winner at one mile.
