#6 Lord Bullingdon (3-1) dropped into a $32k claimer and missed by a head at 9T May 3, and Sherman claimed him that day. He was the favorite in a $40k flat mile affair June 5 and he stalked the pace and rallied through traffic to win by a head. He might get the jump in his main rival #5 City Exile (5-2). The latter was part of the exacta in 4 of 7 starts this year (2 wins). He tallied by 3 1/2 lengths at 9T in February and struck again as the 3-2 favorite at 8T in May. Umberto Rispoli takes the call and this gelding won a turf route at DMR in 2024.
#3 Uncle Happy (8-1) was out of the trifecta in all six starts at SA this year. He won twice at DMR last year and might show something in this spot.
#2 Balladeer (4-1) is 0-for-6 with a pair have minor placings this year. He drops out of the optional-claiming ranks and might be the one to catch.
