Check out my Friday (7-31-26) Del Mar Race 6 analysis below.
DMR 6 (Clm-25k/2L, 8.5T) – Post Time 7:32 PM ET
Primary – #1 SAND BAGGER, #8 Tribal
Secondary – #9 Kokosan, #5 Nineteenth Hole
Horse Comments:
#1 Sand Bagger (5-1) stretched out, stalked the pace, and graduated in a Mcl-50k affair at 8T April 3. He stalked the pace and was an even 5th of 7 at 8T April 25 (beaten 2.5 lengths), and he stalked the pace and was clearly second best in a $25k claimer at 9T May 10. He exceeded the winning par for this last time and should save ground stalking the pace under his winning rider Tyler Baze. The fresh gelding sports a pair of local moves for this.
#8 Tribal (4-1) was part of the trifecta in four of his last six turf starts. Antonio Fresu guided him to a show finish at 6T May 9, and he stretches back out and might be the one to catch.
#9 Kokosan (3-1) battled on the pace and pressed and ended up 4th of 6 at 9T May 24. He drilled a local 4f bullet for this July 25 and his new rider Joel Rosario wins races with John Sadler.
#5 Nineteenth Hole (6-1) sat in midpack and graduated by a half-length at 8T April 24. He was 24-1 in his first start vs. winners June 6 (CA-bred OC-20k/1x, 8T), and he ended up 6th of 8. He sports a pair of local works for this and might be able to compete with these restricted claimers.
