Horse Comments:
#1 More Champagne (4-1) stalked the pace and defeated next-out winner #8 Shining Moment (5-1) in her 5.5T bow at KEE April 24. She was up the track in a productive renewal of the G2 Queen Mary at Ascot second time out. Her winning rider Johnny V stays put and an inside tactical trip is expected.
#3 Side Quest (4-1) was 4th of 12 in her dirt sprint bow and winner Manuka Honey clicked right back in the Ellis Park Debutante. This one switched to turf, chased from second from an outer post, and cruised by 5+ lengths as the favorite at this course/distance July 23 (blinkers on). William Walden’s Charlatan filly earned a decent number last time and should be in the hunt from the outset.
#4 Extravaganzoo (6-1) pressed and faded to last of 5 at 2-1 odds in the More Champagne maiden turf sprint at KEE April 24. She was the favorite at this course and distance second time out and stalked from the outside post and graduated by 3 3/4 lengths under Tyler Gaffalione. George Weaver’s Golden Pal filly is getting faster.
