Scratches (race 8): #4 Very Classy, #8 My Boy Gary, #9 Take a Picture
Updated Tickets After Scratches:
KEE 8 (OC-100k/1x, 8.5f) – Post Time 4:44 PM ET
Primary – #7 SHOWA, #6 Caribbean Life
Secondary – #1 Hes Steelin Mylady
Horse Comments:
#7 Showa (10-1) looked good rallying for the win in a MSW turf route at KD Sept. 9. Wesley Ward is a profitable 39% with horses moving from turf to dirt, and his winning rider Jose Ortiz is a profitable 4-for-11 with this barn recently.
#6 Caribbean Life (4-5) pressed from second and earned his diploma by 3 1/4 lengths in his extended sprint bow at Ellis Park Aug. 8. He was 2-1 in the G3 Iroquois, the first Kentucky Derby points race on Sept. 12, and he rallied to finish a solid third at one mile that day. His new rider Irad Ortiz Jr. is 1-for-1 with William Walden (21% w/+ROI in allowance races).
#1 Hes Steelin Mylady (6-1) dueled and graduated in his 5f bow as the favorite, and he completed the trifecta in his last two starts including the Sapling at one mile Sept. 5 (blinkers on). This is his third start off a layoff for the productive Mitchell Murrill/Aaron West team.
