Horse Comments:
#5 Miso Phansy (2-1) was the favorite in a similar local turf route May 2 and she stalked the pace and finished an even 3rd of 9. That was her first start in 7+ months and she drilled a half-mile bullet for this May 25. She was part of the trifecta in 8 of 10 starts and Armando Ayuso is a profitable turf rider.
#4 Wild West Coast (3-1) was the chalk in her 7.5T bow at TUP March 9 and she rallied to win that race by 6 3/4 lengths. She was 11-1 in a local OC-50k/1x flat mile turf route for 3yo fillies April 24 and she ended up an even third. She has upside and needs to run faster vs. tougher foes, and Joel Rosario is her new rider.
#3 Pavel’s Etoile (5-1) finished in the top three in five of her last eight starts. She battled on the pace and finished less than a length behind Miso Phansy last time. Juan Hernandez takes the call and she might carve out the fractions.
#7 Petite Treat (4-1) pulled off a late running 19-1 upset at 6T April 26. All three of her wins were in sprints and we will see if she can handle a mile (0-for-1 at 8T). Mike Puype has been sending out live runners recently (8 4-1-2).
