Horse Comments:
#5 Stunner (3-1) fired exacta shots in all five starts. She wired the field in the Tempted (one-turn mile) in November, and blew a clear lead as the heavy favorite in the Florida Sire My Dear Girl at 1 1/16 miles four weeks later. She stalked wide from post 11 and finished a length and a quarter behind her stablemate Eclatant in the G3 Forward Gal at this trip, and show finisher The Queens M G won the G2 Davona Dale in her next start. She drilled a bullet for this March 30, reunites with her winning rider Flavien Prat, and should be right up on the pace.
#3 G W’s Girl (2-1) chased the pace and won her turf sprint bow, and was 5th of 12 (beaten 2 lengths) in the Indian Summer second time out. She moved to dirt and won the Mockingbird from off the pace at OP Jan. 4, and runner-up Shisospicy was a next-out OC winner at GP. Last time, this filly battled on the pace and captured the Dixie Belle as the favorite over next-out Southern Hospitality winner Miss Martini. She reconnects with Jose Ortiz and could easily pick up her third stakes win.
#1 Eclatant (8-5) is 3-for-3 around one turn, and was 3rd of 7 (beaten 8 1/2 lengths) in her lone route attempt in the G2 Golden Rod. She turned back and captured the G3 Forward Gal at this distance as my top choice Feb. 1. Luis Saez got to know her last time, she won a local sprint last fall, and she is versatile.
