Check out my Wednesday (6-11-25) Churchill Downs Race 5 analysis below.
CD 5 (OC-80k/2x, F&M, 1 3/8 miles turf) – Post Time 2:45 PM ET
Primary – #4 PARISH LANE, #8 Partir
Secondary – #7 In Time, #1 Long Ago
Horse Comments:
#4 Parish Lane (7-2) moved to the Eddie Kenneally barn this year and ran well in all three starts. She missed by a nose in an all-weather affair at 1 1/2 miles March 28, and returned to turf and missed by a half-length at a mile and a half April 23. She exits a local turf win at 1 1/8 miles and Luan Machado rides her well. This distance looks just about right and she has stalking speed.
#8 Partir (5-2) broke slow and rallied for the show in an 8T affair on yielding ground April 25. That was her first start after a layoff and first outing in this country. She drilled a Keeneland bullet for this June 4 and Luis Saez is her new rider. She won a 10T affair in Ireland last fall and that was her longest career test.
#7 In Time (3-1) fired trifecta shots in her last four turf routes and easily scored at this distance at Saratoga last summer. This is her first start since October and Jose Ortiz sticks with her.
#1 Long Ago (5-1) was strong in a romping all-weather route win in her first start in this country March 12, and went off lasix and was soundly beaten 10-days later in the Latonia Stakes. She missed by a head at a mile and a quarter on synthetic in France so we know she can handle longer distances.
