Horse Comments:
#3 Rexford (9-5) moved to the Justin Evans barn and finished an okay third in a local Alw-65k affair at 6f on Nov. 4. The SoCal transplant won a 1,000 yard dash at Los Al in August and this abbreviated distance might be to his liking.
#5 Dean’s List (2-1) exits a rallying show finish in the mud at RP under Monday’s rider Ramon Vazquez. He handles this oval (4 1-2-1) and distance (3 1-1-1), and his trainer Dick Cappelluccci is having success at the current stand.
#4 Red Leader (8-1) is a sophomore gelding with a good record at this trip (6 2-2-1). He hopped at the break and split an 8-horse field last time (Rexford 3rd). He will probably be forwardly placed with a clean getaway.
#6 Durango Jess (6-1) is 1-for-1 at this oval and he hit the board in 6 of his last 8 starts. He went 6-for-10 last year and is 1-for-10 with a runner-up finish and five show finishes in 2025.
