Horse Comments:
#7 Secane (8-5) made the lead from the inside post and aired by 7+ lengths in her local extended sprint bow at 2-1 odds Aug. 15. She was the favorite in the Tempted at one mile at Aqueduct on Nov. 6 and she broke on top and was clear early, but Edgard Zayas ceded the lead to Shilling and the latter won by 4 lengths, and this filly was best of the rest in third. Irad Ortiz, Jr. is her new rider and she will probably be aggressively handled from the outside post.
#4 Dunmore Beach (3-1) improved her numbers in all three starts. She stretched out after two sprints and looked good graduating from off the pace at 1 1/6 miles on all-weather ground at Woodbine on Nov. 29. She switches surfaces and cuts back in distance, and Josie Carroll is 0-for-14 at Gulfstream.
#5 Nycon (5-1) is a $375k Nyquist filly exiting a sharp maiden win in the mud under the Twin Spires. She will try to get involved from off the pace at a speed friendly distance.
