#7 The Scent (9-2) rallied for the show in a similar local 5f affair Jan. 5. The versatile gelding likes this distance (6 2-2-2) and is 0-for-8 with five minor awards at Turf Paradise.
#8 Chicken Wing (5-1) graduated off a similar layoff at this course and distance on 1-23-25, and his other win was a local $10k/2L score at this trip on 3-4-25. He tailed off after that and this is his first start in 9+ months. He drew outside the other speed and this is a speed friendly distance.
#6 Mandela Effect (6-1) fired trifecta shots in four straight races last year from June through August. He was off the board in his last two local attempts and he tries to bounce back in his third off a layoff. He is 0-for-8 at Turf Paradise and 0-for-4 at 5.5f.
#2 Slew o’ Mischief (5-2) returned from a layoff and set the pace and finished last of 7 in a local $20k claimer Jan. 15. The class dropper graduated at Turf Paradise last year and he should impact the pace.
