Horse Comments:
#7 Western Man (7-2) romped in his sprint bow and chased the pace and ended up 4th of 11 in the Springboard Mile second time out. He was the favorite in a local allowance sprint Feb. 17 and he chased the pace and was second best. An outside stalking trip is expected and he still has upside.
#6 Royalamerican (2-1) was part of the trifecta in all six starts. He won back-to-back state bred stakes races at RP last year, and he ended 2025 with a respectable show finish in the Springboard Mile in December. He turned back and rallied to win a local allowance race on Feb. 24 and earned a decent number that day.
#2 Drewtonian (3-1) broke on top in both starts and comfortably won those races by a combined 8 3/4 lengths. He earned an improved number in Texas second time out and might be the one to catch.
#5 Runaround Rowdy (8-1) pressed the pace and was best of the rest in third at 15-1 odds in his local debut Jan. 13. He was the 3-2 favorite second time out and he dueled from the inside post and aired by 10 lengths Feb. 10 and the distant place finisher was a next-out winner. He earned quality pace ratings last time and should be all over the pace.
