DMR 9 (G2 Del Mar Mile, 8T)
Primary – #1 THE BLACK ALBUM, #4 Mo Forza
Secondary – #3 Galilean, #7 Royal Ship
Wagers: #1 to win, Quinella 1/3-4-7, Trifecta 3-4-7/ALL/1
Comments: #1 The Black Album (12-1) moves to the Miller barn and this is his first start as a gelding. He won a G3 in France in 2018, placed in a G3 at KEE last year, and was right there in a trio of listed stakes (2 wins and a close 2nd). He is versatile and might be able to upset this group. #4 Mo Forza (7-2) improved rapidly last year for Miller. He won three straight graded turf routes vs. sophomores, and raced wide from an outer post and weakened when last seen in the Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1) Jan. 25. Prat rides, he removes blinkers, and he can win this if he is ready to roll in his first start in 7+ months. #3 Galilean (9-2) exits back-to-back CA-bred stakes wins, and the $600k purchase projects an inner stalking trip. Prat abandons for returnee Mo Forza, and his new rider Rispoli is excellent on turf and has been clicking with Sadler recently. #7 Royal Ship (5-1) is an interesting South American import for Mandella. He easily won his last five turf starts in Brazil including a Group 1 race, and he sports a pair of local six furlong bullets for this. Smith has the riding assignment and this is not the strongest grade two in the world. This is his first start in more than half a year.
