China Doll (8T): Fast and Shiny scratched and that figured to make things easier on the early-pressing types. I thought The Wild Grazer (IRE) might be the controlling speed, but she came apart behind the gate just before the start, and she became rank when wrangled back, and she got mad and quit. Princess Bettina ($7.40) got loose under Frankie Dettori’s deft handling, and she was loving life on the front end. She just toyed with these in a facile 4 1/4 length tally. Comanche Country (IRE) was the 3-2 favorite making her first start since the BC, and she came running for the place while no match for the winner. Tea N Conversation raced evenly in a respectable show finish. Paris Secret (IRE) was best of the rest in 4th in her US bow. Havana Angel (IRE) and The Wild Grazer trailed. The final time was 1:36.19.

The 20 cent Rainbow 6 pool was $179,871, and multiple tickets with six winners paid $4,575.40. The jackpot carryover stands at $157,757.

Sensational Star (6.5T): This was was not as easy as it looked on paper for The Chosen Vron. Kings River Knight dueled with Fast Buck. He put that one away and opened up by 1 1/2 lengths under Flavien Prat. It looked like he would pull off the 7-1 upset, but The Chosen Vron ($2.60) overcame some early trouble, raced three wide, got floated out, and stuck his nose out on the line to just prevail. Kings River Knight was a good 2nd and Indian Peak came running late to just miss by a head and a nose. Fast Buck faded to 4th and Jack Sixpack trailed. The final time was 1:12.97.

The 20 cent Rainbow 6 pool was $209,037, and multiple tickets with six winners paid $40,901.50. The jackpot carryover stands at $205,612.
