Check out my Race 9 analysis at Santa Anita Park on Saturday (4-6-24) below.

SA 9 (G3 Monrovia, 6.5T hillside)
Primary – #1 GRACELUND GRAY, #6 Ag Bullet
Secondary – #8 Getthemoney, #4 Chismosa

Horse Comments:

#1 Gracelund Gray (3-1) chased the pace and hit the board in her last two stakes tries at this course and distance. She reconnects with her winning rider Hernandez and might be able to turf the tables on #6 Ag Bullet (9-5). The latter won all three turf attempts. She struck twice on grass in 2023 including the Lady Shamrock, and split a 10-horse field and went to the shelf after the Bourbonette Oaks. She resurfaced in the local Wishing Well at 6.5T Feb. 25, and stalked and scored by a length and a quarter. She is a logical contender if she is able to run two alike. The pace won’t be quick and she should make her presence felt from the outset.

#8 Getthemoney (6-1) switched to turf and stalked and scored from post 10 at this course/distance March 3. She sports back-to-back Los Al bullets since her last and projects an outside tactical journey under her new rider Dettori.

#4 Chismosa (5-1) just goes out there and gives her all in every start. The CA-bred mare returned to turf and finished a close third in the Irish O’Brien at this course/distance March 17. She can get a piece of the purse.
