#2 Therideofalifetime (3-1) went all the way as the betting favorite in his last four dirt sprints. He dusted Magic Castle at this course and distance on March 27, and that runner scored as the chalk on April 10. Floyd Wethey Jr. got to know this one last time and he should make his presence felt from the outset.
#1 Connors Outlaw (5-2) exits a sharp wire-to-wire win from the inside post as the favorite in a local state bred stakes race. The consistent early-pressing gelding should be all over the pace from the inside post.
#4 Jackman (3-1) fired trifecta shots in his last seven starts and he won five of those races. He is an impressive 10-for-25 at six panels, and the early-pressing gelding makes his first local appearance in his second start after the Greg Compton claim.
#8 Midnight Pranks (10-1) romped from off the pace in an allowance sprint when last seen at Sam Houston on Feb. 24, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. The competent closing sprinter should get pace to chase and can come running for a share.
#3 C W Prize (8-1) ran on for the show in the same stakes race Connors Outlaw exits. He was part of the trifecta in all seven outings.
