#5 Drunken Sailor (5-1) chased from second and won his all-weather sprint bow at Turfway on Feb. 23. Mike Pino has him now and he excels with his first after the claim starters. Recently hot rider Mychel Sanchez is 5-for-14 with this barn, and the surface switcher sports four local works for this and might offer a hint of value.
#1 Amore d’Oro (4-1) was part of the exacta in his last three local routes in the special weight ranks. He added lasix and landed the place on Feb. 5, and earned an improved number when dueling and edging clear on March 4. He turns back and might be this good.
#6 Masakado (3-1) usually finishes in the top three on fast dirt. The relatively consistent Maryland shipper cuts back a furlong after finishing a clear, distant third in a fast race at Laurel on April 5.
#7 Warrior Ted (5-1) earned quality pace ratings in a wire-to-wire maiden win vs. local state bred special weight foes at six panels on April 9. He might be the one to catch.
