#5 Grazen in the Sun (9-5) ended 2023 with a win, probably needed her Feb. 25 return, and dueled and kicked clear by a length and a quarter as a 16-1 longshot in CA-bred allowance turf sprint on the downhill course on April 7 (2-3 finishers next-out winners). This is a good spot for the early-pressing type. She will either press 12-1 longshot returnee #4 Anna’s Music (Fresu), or will just go on with it in a race lacking front end speed.
#6 Hotitude (2-1) stalked and scored by a head as the favorite at this course/distance last June. She missed by a head at 5T last August and has not been seen since. Hernandez rides for Mulhall and she has worked eleven times this year so she should be fit.
#7 Issa Court (4-1) can get the right kind of outside tactical trip but I am not convinced that she is a sprinter. The flat mile specialist tried an allowance turf sprint Feb. 3, and she stalked and weakened. That was her first start after the Hess Jr. claim. She stretched back out and set a fast pace under Maldonado March 15, and weakened to third. She has been freshened for this.

#5 Dontim (3-1) hit the board in four straight races from Jan. 15 thru March 29, and missed by a half-length in the latter race. He was unplaced at the $20k level April 20 and the drop might do the trick.
#2 Mr. Duff (9-2) landed the show in a similar local sprint at 5-2 odds on April 12. He figures to chase the pace and might pick up his first win.
