Check out my Tuesday (5-14-24) Parx Race 8 analysis below.
Parx 8 (Str-OC-25k, 3&up, 1 mile dirt) – Post Time – 3:53pm EDT
Primary – #2 ACTION HERO, #5 Eddie W
Secondary – #6 Rush Center
Horse Comments:
#2 Action Hero (3-1) is getting faster. He chased a runaway speed horse in the slop at seven panels on April 1, and stretched back out, battled through slow splits, and kicked away to graduate by 3 3/4 lengths at this course and distance on April 23. Paco Lopez got to know him last time and he should be all over tepid splits in his first start vs. winners.
#5 Eddie W (4-1) is interesting if he handles two turns. The sophomore gelding rallied from far back in the slop to earn his diploma in the local slop at six panels on March 5. He was an even third in a similar local sprint on March 27 and has some stamina influences on the dam side of his pedigree. His dam Back Stop was a sprint winner, but her dam Freeroll won multiple routes including the Lighthouse Stakes at Monmouth in 2005.
#6 Rush Center (8-5) attended the pace and settled for the place in his last two local starts at a mile and seventy yards. The 1-for-17 gelding figures to chase the pace from the outside post, and he is fast enough to win this but has dropped eleven straight races and won’t offer much value.
