Horse Comments:
#6 Warrior’s Cause (5-1) chased from second and won a dirt sprint at this distance at Penn National on Feb. 9, and disappointed in two starts since. He has won on all-weather ground before and might bounce back in his second start after a layoff.
#1 Heavy Pour (6-1) adds lasix for the first time and that is a good stat for trainer Tim Girten. He fired in both local sprints last year including a stakes win over Going Up in October. He drilled a local bullet for this on May 2 and reconnects with his winning rider Gaddiel Martinez.
#7 Schnittker (5-2) chased from an outer post and prevailed by a neck as the favorite in his Turfway debut on March 30. He fired a Keeneland bullet for this on May 20 and is a logical contender for Wesley Ward.
#3 Reeled In (8-1) fired in all three local sprints last year including a romping maiden win by 10 lengths. He figures to stalk the pace in his first start since October 2023.
#2 Going Up (3-1) won a dirt sprint stakes race last year and placed in two other stakes races on all-weather ground. He broke his maiden in a local sprint and Ron Potts shows a profit with this type of layoff runner.
