Check out my Thursday (5-23-24) Delaware Park Race 6 analysis below.
Delaware Park Race 6 (Alw-41k, 3&up, 6f)
Primary – #5 DILLINGER, #4 Acoustic Ave
Secondary – #7 Final Verdict, #6 Dark Timber
Horse Comments:
#5 Dillinger (3-1) stalked outside and eased as the beaten favorite at Laurel on April 21, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He drilled a bullet for this on May 8 and Brittany Russell is 2-for-2 at Delaware. He might go much better in his second start after a long layoff.
#4 Acoustic Ave (2-1) is a New York-bred gelding returning to dirt and he enjoys this distance (4 3-1-0). He should attend the pace in his second start after a long layoff.
#7 Final Verdict (8-1) earned the best last-race number in a show finish at Tampa Bay on April 28. Juan Arriagada is his new trainer and apprentice rider Gabriel Maldonado wins races with this outfit and is 4-for-10 at the current stand. This one was part of the trifecta in his last eight starts at Tampa. The early-pressing colt should be all over the pace.
#6 Dark Timber (4-1) chased from second before weakening in the same race Dillinger exits. He wired the field in his lone local attempt and figures to impact the pace for a productive jockey-trainer team. He drilled a bullet for this on May 13.
