Check out my Thursday (7-11-24) Saratoga Race 10 analysis below.
SAR 10 (Schuylerville, 2yo fillies, 6f dirt) – Post Time 6:16pm EDT
Primary – #10 VIGGIEDAL, #5 Complexion
Secondary – #9 Long Neck Paula, #4 Slang, #3 Sherbini
Horse Comments:
#10 Viggiedal (9-2) is a $350k Vekoma filly exiting a relatively fast wire-to-wire win in her Churchill debut. Steve Asmussen’s charge shows two local works for this and Tyler Gaffalione is a profitable 25% with this outfit.
#5 Complexion (7-2) did not disappoint as the favorite in her Aqueduct bow on June 14. She was pressured from the outside post before putting away her rivals and scoring by 6 1/2 lengths under John Velazquez. Danny Gargan’s $400k Complexity filly should be all over the pace.
#9 Long Neck Paula (8-1) dueled and edged clear to graduate by 3 1/2 lengths from post 11 in her Churchill bow on May 2. Her new rider Flavien Prat is 30% in sprints and Wesley Ward’s $500k Uncle Mo filly drilled a local gate bullet for this on June 28.
#4 Slang (10-1) ran into subsequent stakes winner Vodka With a Twist in her debut in the slop. She was 10-1 second time out, and she pressed and scored by a length and a quarter, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. They paid $190k for this daughter of Omaha Beach and Norm Casse shows a profit with his recent grads trying winners for the first time.
#3 Sherbini (9-2) stalked and scored by 3 1/2 lengths at 11-1 odds in her Churchill debut on June 16. She had a decent local half-mile workout for this on July 3.
