Horse Comments:
#8 On the Shortlist (4-1) won five of her last eight turf routes. She needed her Lyphard return as the beaten 3-2 favorite and bounced back with victories on June 18 and July 4. She owns early-pressing versatility and can compete here if she handles the footing.
#6 Foxy Junior (5-2) tracked the pace and smartly won her last three dirt routes at Penn National. She figures to stalk the pace under her winning rider Torres and is a logical contender if she handles all-weather ground.
#2 Rosie’s Alibi (12-1) moved to the Trombetta barn and was strong in a local sprint as the 1-2 favorite on May 21, and she stretched out and won a slow early/fast late turf route at Penn National on June 18. She reunites with her winning rider Gallardo and she can compete here if she runs a bit faster in her third start after a layoff.
#1 Anoit (15-1) enjoys the local oval (9 2-3-1) and will try to get involved late. Keri Brion excels with turf/all-weather runners and she can rally for a share if the pace heats up.
