#4 Abitmischievous (5-2) chose this race over a dirt sprint on Aug. 18. He finished up the track in his turf sprint bow. He switched to dirt and missed by a half-length from the inside post at 5.5f on July 4, and was second from the inside post in a local flat mile maiden race on July 25. Peter Miller is a profitable 15% with his second route starters and this one improved his speed ratings in all three starts. They paid $310k for this one and this is his third start after a layoff.
#6 Canada Gate (6-5) stretched out and paired up solid numbers on June 15 and July 25. He was a head behind Abitmischievous last time and should be in the hunt throughout for the productive Juan Hernandez/Bob Baffert team.
#1 Concord Bridge (3-1) is an $850k purchase making his first start since October 2023. He split a 10-horse field in his local sprint bow at 22-1 odds, and stretched out in his second start and finished in a dead heat for the show behind romping winner Wynstock as the beaten favorite. He adds lasix and shows four works for this, and Hector Berrios is 4-for-10 with John Sadler recently.
