#12 Princess Javoncia (4-1) is 6-for-19 on turf and she might offer a hint of value. She won a turf route at Laurel on June 29 and earned a quality late pace rating in another turf route score at Delaware on July 31. Julio Hernandez is a 20% turf rider and a stalking trip from the outside post is expected.
#11 New Hire (5-1) is 6-for-13 on dirt andshe hit the board in both synthetic starts. This is her first turf attempt and dam has tossed a turf winner, and her trainer Erin McClellan is a profitable 23% first turf. She ran well in her last two stakes starts.
#1 Rosie’s Alibi (5-2) won her last three starts for Mike Trombetta. She won an all-weather sprint on May 21 and tallied by a neck in a turf route on June 18, and captured a synthetic stakes route at Presque Isle on July 29. She was the favorite in all three of those races and figures to take the bulk of the wagering action once again. The tactical filly should save all the ground under her new rider Mychel Sanchez.
#10 On the Shortlist (6-1) won back-to-back turf routes on June 18 and July 4, and she split a 10-horse field in the Princess of Sylmar at Presque Isle on July 29. She is 5-for-8 with a runner-up finish on turf, and the versatile filly reconnects with her winning pilot Tyler Conner. She had lasix in all five of her wins and is not allowed to use that medication in this stakes race.
