Horse Comments:
#1 Vols (4-1) is tagged for the first time and Kazushi Kimura is 4-for-12 with George Papaprodromou. He fits with these if he can run back to his solid show finish in a state bred MSW turf route at SA on June 7. He was stuck out in post 11 on July 28 and Kimura knows him now and he can show more in his second start after a short layoff.
#5 War Swift (15-1) makes his third start for George Papaprodromou. He stretched out and switched to turf in his second start on July 28, and he split a 12-horse field in that CA-bred MSW affair. Hector Berrios takes the call and he is a profitable 21% turf pilot.
#9 Black as My Heart (3-1) was off the board in all three state bred MSW turf starts for Sadler last year. Richard Baltas has him now and this is his first start as a gelding, and Armando Ayuso is a profitable turf pilot.
#12 Silver N Black (7-2) is a logical contender from an outer post. The 0-for-11 gelding hit the board on four occasions and competed in the CA-bred MSW ranks in his last six starts (3 minor placings). Bob Hess Jr. shows a profit with his starters removing blinkers and he reconnects with Kent Desormeaux.
#8 Keep It Coming (8-1) rallied for the place in his 5T bow and had an uncomfortable trip from post 10 second time out. He misfired in his last two dirt sprints and stretches out and returns to turf. Sean McCarthy shows a profit first route and dirt/turf, and dam has produced a turf winner.
