Horse Comments:
#2 Arromax (3-1) dropped out of the MSW ranks and split a 10-horse field vs. $40k foes on July 28, and that was his first start in 11+ months. He adds blinkers and drops to the $20k level, and Abel Cedillo got acquainted with the $230k Arrogate gelding last time. He owns the best pace ratings and might be the one to catch.
#11 Kobe W (6-1) went from MSW to MOC-62.5k and he stalked wide from the outside post and was beaten 10 lengths. Doug O’Neill has good stats with the type of dropper and Kyle Frey is 2-for-6 with this outfit recently. This is his first start as a gelding.
#1 Eddie’s Wave (7-2) dueled and ended up fourth in a similar local race at 1 1/16 miles on Aug. 15. This slightly shorter trip helps and he should be all over the pace from the inside post under Kazushi Kimura.
#9 Westeros (10-1) broke from post 9 of 10 and missed the show by a nose in a similar local extended sprint on Aug. 4, and the clear runner-up was a next-out winner. He stretches back out and might be able to land a share for competent conditioner J. Kent Sweezey.
#4 Winsitwell (10-1) gets a rider upgrade to Antonio Fresu and Luis Mendez is a +ROI maiden claiming trainer.
