The Grade 1, $300,000 Del Mar Futurity will be run at Del Mar on Sunday, September 8, 2024. The seven juvenile entrants will travel seven furlongs on the main track and Getaway Car is the 6-5 morning line favorite. The Del Mar Futurity goes as the tenth race with a scheduled post time of 9:02 p.m. EDT.

Getaway Car broke on top and cruised to easy wins in both local dirt sprints as the favorite including the Grade 3 Best Pal. Bob Baffert’s $700k Curlin colt should be all over the pace from the inside post. His winning rider Juan Hernandez has been on a roll with this barn recently, and he sports two local works since his last start.
Gaming looked good winning his local debut at 6 1/2 furlongs on Aug. 11. Bob Baffert’s $250k Game Winner colt gets the services of Flavien Prat and he would not have to run much faster to win this.
