Check out my Tuesday (9-10-24) Fort Erie Race 10 analysis below.
FE 10 (Prince of Wales, 3yo, 1 3/16 miles dirt) – Post Time 5:35 p.m. EDT
Primary – #9 PIERRE, #10 Essex Serpent
Secondary – #5 Midnight Mascot
Horse Comments:
#9 Pierre (4-1) improved his speed ratings in all five starts. He stalked wide and finished an even fourth at 40-1 odds in the King’s Plate. He has a decent dirt pedigree and Kevin Attard saddled the winner of this race in 2021 and 2023.
#10 Essex Serpent (9-2) might be the one to catch. Mark Casse has won this race four times and this gelded son of Honor Code wired the field in the Grade 3 Marine on June 29. He set the pace and faded in the King’s Plate, and the pace might be more controlled this time and he can go better in his second start after a short layoff.
#5 Midnight Mascot (5-2) was part of the trifecta in 8 of his 9 starts. He won the Woodstock at six panels in April, and he rallied for the show in the King Corrie, Marine (G3), and King’s Plate. Mark Casse’s reliable closer should be heard from late.
