Check out my Thursday (9-12-24) Churchill Downs Race 6 analysis below.
CD 6 (OC-100k/2L, 2yo fillies, 6f dirt) – Post Time 7:25 p.m. EDT
Primary – #6 ECHO SOUND, #4 Anakarina
Secondary – #7 Oliveria, #2 Bilyana, #5 Roshiell My Belle
Horse Comments:
#6 Echo Sound (7-2) was 14-1 in her Ellis Park debut and she chased wide and scored by a bit less than a length. She became her dam’s ninth winner and her tactical speed should serve her well. Her new rider Luis Saez is strong with early-pressing types.
#4 Anakarina (3-1) easily went all the way in a local special weight event at 4 1/2 furlongs in her second career start on June 26. She was 6-1 in the Adirondack (G3) last time and she dueled through above par splits and faded out of contention (beaten 18 lengths). She drilled a local bullet for this on Sept. 5 and her winning rider Tyler Gaffalione stays put.
#7 Oliviera (4-1) was 1.80-1 vs. three rivals in her maiden claiming debut at Colonial Downs and she romped by 11 lengths. She earned quality pace ratings in her bow and might be this good.
#2 Bilyana (4-1) rallied to win her dirt sprint debut at Ellis Park. She was the favorite in that MOC-50k affair and she ran to her odds, and Eric Foster shows a profit with his graduates trying winners for the first time.
#5 Roshiell My Belle (5-1) rallied to captured her local dirt sprint bow at 13-1 odds, and was no threat when finishing 5th of 7 in Colleen at five panels on turf second time out. She is back on dirt and will try to get involved late under her new rider Jose Ortiz.
