Check out my Saturday (9-14-24) Los Alamitos Race Course Race 8 analysis below.

LRC 8 (E.B. Johnston, CA-bred 3up, one mile dirt) – Post Time 7:35 p.m. EDT
Primary – #2 COWBOY MIKE, #4 Man O Rose
Secondary – #1 Dont Fight the Fed, #7 Coalinga Road

Horse Comments:

#2 Cowboy Mike (5-2) dueled and weakened to last of 4 as the beaten favorite in the Bertrando on June 22. Bob Baffert’s 4-year-old gelding reconnects with Kyle Frey and will probably revert to stalking tactics in this spot. He romped in a local state bred allowance race last September and he has struck three times at one mile.

#4 Man O Rose (2-1) tries a route of ground and is probably the one to catch. He won four straight earlier this year and finished last of 6 in an abbreviated turf sprint at Del Mar on Aug. 2.

#1 Dont Fight the Fed (5-1) is back on the main track and has a good overall record at one mile (5 2-1-1). He raced at Los Al once and that was a show finish in the Bertrando Stakes in June.

#7 Coalinga Road (4-1) hit the board in all five starts at this distance. The closing veteran can rally for a share under his new rider Hector Berrios.
