#6 Eff Thirty Five (5-2) removed blinkers and rallied to miss by a neck on Aug. 2, and he stalked and scored as the strong favorite on Aug. 28. Those were turf routes and Brittany Russell is 3-for-9 with her turf to all-weather starters. The improving 3-year-old gelding attracts strong local rider Antonio Gallardo.
#8 Knight Legend (6-1) stretched back out, chased the pace, and finished a clear third in a local $25k route on Sept. 11, and that was a slow early/fast late event. He reconnects with his winning rider Pablo Morales and could easily show more in his third start of the year.
#4 Major Thomas (4-1) fired in his last three turf routes at Penn National. He stalked and scored in an entry level allowance event on July 4, and he set the pace and was best of the rest in third on yielding ground in the Summer Fun Stakes on Aug. 30. He earned improved numbers in his last pair and should attend the pace in his first start on all-weather ground.
#7 Morning March (8-1) set the pace and missed the place by a half-length in a similar course/distance spot on Sept. 2. He might be the one to catch in this spot as well.
