Check out my Thursday (9-26-24) Belmont at Aqueduct Race 6 analysis below.
BAQ 6 (John Hettinger, NY-bred fillies and mares, 1 1/8 miles turf) – Post Time 3:40 PM ET
Primary – #6 WHATLOVELOOKSLIKE, #2 Marvelous Maude
Secondary – #3 Silver Skillet, #7 Moonage Daydream
Horse Comments:
#6 Whatlovelookslike (4-1) was bumped early, raced 3-wide, and kept on finding in a solid show finish in the Yaddo Stakes on Aug. 25 and that was her first start in more than nine months. Dylan Davis is 4-for-7 with Todd Pletcher recently and this barn is strong with second after a layoff runners. She is 0-for-5 at Aqueduct and finished a solid third in this race last year.
#2 Marvelous Maude (3-1) rallied for the place from the outside post in the Yaddo last time, and it looks like she is rounding back into top form. Chad Brown’s relatively consistent late running mare is 0-for-5 with four underneath finishes at Aqueduct. She ran well in both starts at this distance and might be able to get there if the pace is honest.
#3 Silver Skillet (2-1) wired the field in back-to-back New York-bred stakes races on June 9 and July 7. She was the even money favorite in the Yaddo last time and she had an uncomfortable beginning and stalked, moved up, and weakened to 5th of 8. She can make the lead with a clean getaway.
#7 Moonage Daydream (4-1) chased from second and upset the Yaddo Stakes at 13-1 odds last time. Thursday’s pilot Flavien Prat booted her home twice previously.
