Horse Comments:
#6 Two Eagles River (9-2) stalked the pace and hit the board in his last four dirt sprints. He earned a good number at Keeneland Oct. 19 and might hold form in his third start after a layoff. He has the ability to attend the pace in a race lacking front runners.
#9 Liberal Arts (5-2) was on the 2024 Derby trail. He was third in Iroquois (G3), first in the Street Sense (G3), and third in the Southwest (G1). He finished up the track in the Arkansas Derby (G1) and Lexington (G3). Brad Cox is his new trainer and this is his first start since April. He fired trifecta shots in all four starts around one turn and he showed running style versatility in those races. He adds lasix for the first time and has been training steadily at Churchill since Sept. 6 (7 local works).
#3 West Saratoga (4-1) drops out of the graded ranks and cuts back in distance. He beat Liberal Arts in the Iroquois (G3) last year and is 0-for-6 with three minor awards in the stakes ranks since. This is a good distance for this Exaggerator colt and he sports two bullets for this.
#1 Banishing (5-1) exits a big $62.5k claiming win in an extended sprint at Keeneland. He turned back and showed a nice stretch kick in that slow early/fast late event last time.
#2 Lambeth (6-1) missed the show by a head at 1 1/8 miles Sept. 15 and he earned an improved number that day. His new trainer Joe Sharp is 7-for-22 at Churchill and he graduated in a one-turn mile late last year.
